TIMES July 25, 1872 P3 C3
Death of an Aged Man--M. J. Pepin, well known to all the old settlers, died at the house of his son in this place, on Saturday evening last, at a very advanced age. His age was somewhere from 80 to 85 years. It was one of the vagaries of the old man's mind that he served eleven years and four months in the war of 1812, and that he slew the famous Indian Chief Tecumsch, who was killed at the battle of the River Raisin during that war.
