Services held for Annie Novak

Funeral services for Annie Novak of Protivin were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Protivin. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Annie, 93, died Sunday, March 12, 2000 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco.

Annie Eva Novak was born December 24, 1906 near Lourdes, Howard County, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Humpal) Frana. She attended the rural school.

On November 25, 1924 she married Lewis J. Novak at Lourdes. They lived on the farm until 1952, when they moved into Protivin.

She loved to garden, grow beautiful flowers and crochet.

Survivors include two sons: Eugene and Andrew both of Protivin; and one daughter Elizabeth Seaver of Orlando, FL; ten grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; one sister Julia Phillips of Decorah; and two brothers: Ben of Cupertino, CA and Rev. Clarence Frana of Cedar Rapids.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband Lewis on August 24, 1984; one grandson; seven brothers: Vitalis in infancy, George, Paul, Albert, Victor, Julius, and William; and four sisters: Stella Kuboushek, Celia Novak, Sr. DeSales, and Agnes Frana in infancy.
