Nancy R. Nath, 72, Lime Springs grad

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6 at West Liberty United Methodist Church for Nancy R. Nath, 72, who died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness.

The Rev. Frank Schultz officiated at the services. Interment was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty.

She was born Oct. 8, 1927 in Fillmore County, Minn., daughter of George T. and Ruth E. Watts Hughes. She graduated from Lime Springs High School in 1945, and married John H. Nath in Lime Springs April 13, 1946.

She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, PEO, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Questers and Heisey Collectors.

Survivors include her husband, John H. Nath, West Liberty: two sons, John H. Nath Jr., West Liberty; Steven A. Nath and wife, Gertrude, West Liberty; a daughter, Susan R. Slight and husband, Gary, Muscatine, and six grandchildren, Jenifer Nolan, Tiffin; John H. Nath III and wife, Joanna, Windsor. Wis.; Alison Nath, West Liberty; Alex Nath, West Liberty; Sarah Slight, Muscatine; Meagan Slight, Muscatine. Also three great-grandchildren, Derek Lamb, Tanner Nolan, and Angelia Moran: two brothers, Eddie G. Hughes and wife Gertrude, Lime Springs, and Stephen W. Hughes and wife, Lois, Lime Springs; six nephews, an aunt and three cousins.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Barker Funeral Home. West Liberty, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
