Services held for Earl Melver, 72

Graveside services were held at the Howard Center Cemetery Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, for Earl Eugene Melver, 72, who died in Gunderson Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis., Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The Rev. Gary Lee officiated at the 1 p.m. services.

Mr. Melver was born March 3, 1928 at Kendallville, Iowa, son of Carl Sr. and Eva (Henderson) Melver. A self-employed truck driver, he lived in Arlington, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, sight-seeing and visiting with his family and friends.

Survivors include five daughters, Mary Ann, Laura, JoAnne, Helen and Michelle; four sons, Merlin, Jackie, Carl and Jason; three sisters, Grace Schorr, Cresco; Ann Balk, Goodell, Iowa and Wanda Sly, Des Moines, Iowa and five brothers, Kermit, Shell Rock, Iowa; Carl Jr., Cresco; George, Cresco; Leonard, Cresco, and Oscar, Lime Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert, Norman, Richard, Thomas, John and Edward.

Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
