Services held for Ruth Melver, 35

Funeral services for Ruth Melver of Union, formerly of Cresco were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 23 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Ruth, 35, died Monday, June 19, 2000 as a result of a gunshot wound.

Ruth Elaine Melver was born June 5, 1965 at Cresco, the daughter of Carl and Carol (Moore) Melver. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended Crestwood High School.

Ruth nursed animals found injured or homeless back to health and turned them loose.

Ruth like to read, roller skate, sew and crochet. When in her teens, she won first place at the Fair on a baby afghan.

Ruth is survived by her parents.

She was preceded in death by one brother Carl James, Jr. and her grandparents.
