Services held for Lillian Markovetz

Funeral services for Lillian Markovetz were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at the Conway Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen M. Schmitt officiated. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Pall bearers were: John, Perry, Peter L. and Jeremy Olsgard, Ron Riehle, and Nick Krause.

Lillian, 92, died Thursday, March 9, 2000 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah.

Lillian Markovetz was born October 27, 1907 at Fort Dodge, the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Barta) Korsa. She received her education in the rural schools near Ft. Dodge.

On September 13, 1932 she married John Bohach at Morrison, IL and they moved to Cresco. John died in 1947 and on July 27, 1948 she married Edward Markovetz in Chicago, IL and they returned to Cresco.

Lillian loved to garden, to collect rocks and had many rock gardens, she also liked to fish and to dance.

Survivors include her husband Edward; three daughters: Lillian Olsgard of Lime Springs, Diane Thompson of Decorah, and Genny Riehle of Cresco; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; and one sister: Frances Homan of Bridgefield, IL.

Lillian was preceded in death by her first husband John Bohach; one granddaughter, her parents; one brother: James; and two sisters: Barbara Lennon and Rosie Gabrisch.
