Funeral services for Gordon Landswerk were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, at First Lutheran Church in Cresco with Intern Gail Hermodson officiating. Pall bearers were Jason Landswerk, Lisa Peckham, Vickie Truka, Amber Landswerk, Dean Webster, Cindy Truka, Stacy Truka, Jenny Landswerk, Justin Landswerk, Danny Webster, and Garrett Landswerk. Interment was in Saude Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gordon died Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at the Cresco Care Center at the age of 75 from complications of cancer.
Gordon Alger Landswerk was born June 5, 1925 in Howard County the son of Alert and Gertrude (Attlelson) Landswerk. He graduated from Cresco High School in 1943 and was a state wrestling champ that year.
On June 18, 1950 he married Dora Lee Medberry. Gordon was a farmer and was awarded the farmer of the year in March of 1960.
Survivors include one son, Gary of Spring Valley, MN; three daughters, Karen Webster of Elgin, Jane Truka of Lime Springs, and Joan Kuhse of Cresco, and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson; his parents; and one brother, Curtis.
