Alice Klimesh, 65, services held

Funeral services for Alice Klimesh of Cresco were held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2 at the St. Joseph’s Worship Center in Cresco. Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiated. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery. Pall bearers were her grandsons: Tim Knoll, Lenny McIntire, Andrew Schon, Alston, Travis and David Klimesh, Jr. Honorary pall bearers were grandchildren: Adam, Matthew and Scotti Lynn Schon, Colin, Jessica, Zachary, Hillary, Liza and Amanda Klimesh, Melissa Knoll, and Lacey McIntire. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Alice, 65, died Friday, December 29, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Cresco.

Alice Beatrice Klimesh was born May 16, 1935 at East Suffolk, England, the daughter of Pooley and Mary (Tye) Waterfield.

On July 13, 1953 she married George G. Klimesh at West Suffolk, England. She came to the U.S. after George was released from the Armed Forces and they made their home near Cresco.

Alice liked to travel, meet new people, garden, embroider, go fishing with George, play cards and bingo, and watch tv.

Survivors include four daughters: Joan Kroll of New Hampton, Gwen McIntire of Cresco, Janet Schon of Waukon, Judy Klimesh of Cresco; two sons: David of Becker, MN and Dean of Elma; and 17 grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband George on October 2, 2000; her parents; three brothers: John, Tom, and Harry; and two sisters: violet and Maggie who all lived in England.

CRESCO-- Alice Klimesh, 65, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Cresco.
Funeral services were held Jan. 2 at the St. Joseph's Worship Center, Cresco with Rev. Henry W. Charipar presiding.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with grandsons, Tim Kroll, Lenny Mclntire, Andrew Schon, Alston, Travis and David Klimesh Jr. serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were grandchildren, Adam, Matthew and Scotti Lynn Schon, Colin, Jessica, Zachary, Hillary, Liza and Amanda Klimesh, Melissa Knoll and Lacey Mclntire.
Alice Beatrice Klimesh was born on May 16, 1935 in East Suffolk, England, the daughter of Pooley and Mary (Tye) Waterfield. She married George G. Klimesh on July 13, 1953 in West Suffolk, England. She came to the U.S. after George was released from the Armed Forces and they made their home near Cresco. Alice enjoyed traveling, gardening, embroidering, fishing with her husband, playing cards and bingo and spending time with her family.
Survivors include six children, Joan (Kurt) Knoll, New Hampton, Gwen (Lenn) Mclntire, Cresco, David (Patricia) Klimesh, Becker, MN; Dean Klimesh, Elma, Janet (Jeff) Schon, Waukon and Judy Klimesh, Cresco and 17 grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on Oct. 2, 2000; three brothers, John, Tom and Harry and two sisters, Violet and Maggie, who all lived in England.
