Lillian Jones, 91, Lime Springs

Services were held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs Thursday, May 25, for Lillian Esther Jones with the Rev, Frank Fagerburg officiating. Friends read scripture and poetry and sang for her service. Ms. Jones died at the Regional Health Services of Howard County May 24 at the age of 91.

Ms. Jones was born September 10, 1908, to Richard and Anna (Weinkauf) Jones. Her mother died when she was 2, and she was raised by her father and his parents.

She received her schooling in this area and also attended business college in Mankato, Minn. She returned to Lime Springs to care for her grandparents.

She had polio at a young age but was able to perform housework until recent years. She joined the Eastern Star in 1927 and was a member for 72 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by cousins.

Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
