NEW HAMPTON - Clarence Herzeelle, 92, New Hampton, formerly of Oelwein, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at the New Hampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton with Rev. Bruce Hobert officiating. Mary Jo Urbatsch will sing "On Eagle’s Wings", "Amazing Grace” and "Ten Thousand Angels". Rev. Hobert will be guitarist and accompany those in attendance singing "How Great Thou Art".

A 2:30 p.m. burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein with Lucille Sikkink, Cleo Mensink, Janis Miller, Mary Lou Ostby, Marlys Barker and Margaret Hoover serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Harold Rathburn, Marilyn Senne, Madonna Casey, Marsha Soland and Linda Rain.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at the funeral home, with an 8 p.m. Scripture Service.

Clarence Albert Herzeelle was born Jan. 2, 1908 near Lime Springs, the son of Peter and Victorena (Herplinck) Herzeelle. He attended country school near his home and after his schooling, farmed with his father. Clarence was united in marriage with Irene Maurer on Sept. 20, 1939 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. Following their marriage the couple resided in Cresco where he worked as an auto mechanic. They later moved to Waukon and in 1943, moved to Oelwein where Clarence began working as a mechanic for Dewey Meihe (John Deere) Implement and later Hub City Implement in Oelwein. After his retirement from the implement shop, Clarence began working at Sieg Auto Parts. In 1994 he moved to New Hampton. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein and enjoyed reading and woodworking.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Howard) Bunger, New Hampton, Connie (Bob) Buck, Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Kevin (Michelle) Bunger, Forest City, Bill Buck and Shelly Buck, Columbus, OH, Kim (Scott) Geerts, Charlotte, NC; three greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Irene on May 13,1995; three brothers, Victor, Charlie and Harold Herzeelle; three sisters, Julia Meidma, Rena Rathburn, Hilda Mahn.
