Charlene Hageman services held

Funeral services for Charlene Hageman were held Friday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph’s Worship Center. Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiated. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Charlene, 63, died Monday, September 11, 2000 at Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital in Cresco.

Charlene Doris Burgess was born October 15, 1936 on the family farm near Cresco, the daughter of Charles J. and Ida E. (Wenthold) Burgess. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1955.

On June 11, 1955 she married Duane E. Hageman at St. Joseph’s Church in Cresco.

Charlene was a member of St. Joseph Worship Center and the Rosary Society.

Her hobbies included fishing, crocheting, refinishing furniture, farming with her husband and repairing things. She enjoyed music and was a vocalist and bass player for the band “The Westemaires.”

Survivors include her husband Duane of Cresco; two daughters: Wanda Hageman of North Liberty and Carla Vorwald of Cresco; one son: Randy of Cresco; four grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth and Charles both of Cresco; and four sisters: Corrine Arnold and Emma Jean Koudelka both of Cresco, Dorothy McGee of Des Moines and Charloette Sorenson of Decorah.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters: Alice Whalen, Helen Hovden, Rosemary Ott and Alta Jean Burgess.
