Funeral services for Marie Frahm were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 31 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. Rev. Bruce Hobert officiated. Interment was in Howard Cemetery in Elma. Pall bearers were: Don Wearda, Dale Boderman, Tom Dvorak, Orville Baethke, Bob Jensen, and Dan Berentsen. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Marie, 95, died Friday, July 28, 2000 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco where she had resided since April of this year.

Marie Frahm was born December 26, 1904 on a farm north of Elma, the daughter of Henry and Friederika (Boyer) Schwake. She was baptized on January 22, 1905 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Maple Leaf, rural Elma and was confirmed in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Elma on March 24, 1918 by Rev. F. Bonosvky. She attended rural school and high school graduating from Elma High School in 1921.

Marie and Ernest Frahm were married on May 4, 1926 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Elma by Rev. F. Bonosvky. They lived on a farm northwest of Elma for a number of years and then retired and moved to Cresco in February of 1974.

Marie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, WELCA, Mission Circle, Friendly Garden Club, Cresco Senior Citizens and served as a Pink Lady at the Regional Health Services of Howard County.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Ernest on December 29, 1989.
