After her husband’s death on June 3, 1981, she joined the Elma Colonial Manor Staff as Activity Coordinator and Social Work Designer and continued this work for 15 years.

Her love for music continued when she organized and directed the “Elma Centennial Singers.” Survivors include two daughters: Carla Cooley of Waverly and Paula Kaler of Lincoln, IL; one son: Douglas of Plant City, FL; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Margaret Vogel of Hull.
