Wm. Leslie, aged 23 years, a son of Magnus Leslie was drowned at Chester Sunday afternoon while bathing. He is reported to have been an indifferent swimmer and in attempting to cross a deep hole in the pond went down. One of the bathers attempted his rescue but failed. He is reported to have been an estimable young man, unmarried, but leaves a large number of friends and relatives to mourn his untimely death.
