Unexpected Death.

John R. Covey died very unexpectedly about 6 o’clock Wednesday evening. He had been troubled somewhat lately with rheumatism, and a few days ago obtained a prescription therefor. By some mistake he took a double dose of the medicine with the result of intense pains in his stomach, which he was assured were not symptoms of any danger. The pains, however, continued till Wednesday afternoon when he took to his bed and a {remainder missing}

The funeral of J. R. Covey, Sunday, was in the charge of the G. A. R., to which order the deceased belonged. The attendance was large, fully fifty teams joining in the procession to the cemetery, showing the esteem in which he was held by his friends and neighbors.
