Funeral of Elmer Klingsheim, 72, Held Monday at Spring Valley
Elmer Klingsheim was born April 17, 1900, in Fillmore County, Minnesota, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Klingsheim. He was married to Opal Kelsey on April 21, 1929. Four children were born to this union.
Mr. Klingsheim lived in Cresco for many years where he operated a trucking service. Later he moved to Spring Valley and then to Minneapolis and St. Paul. For several years before retiring he worked with his son in hotel management and maintenance work. From 1970 until his passing he lived in San Diego, Calif.
Elmer Klingsheim was saved as a young boy but came back to Christ in 1948 and had been serving the Lord until his homegoing May 30, 1972. He was a member of First Assembly of God, San Diego, and attended the services of that Assembly regularily.
Elmer Klingsheim was preceded in death by three brothers, an infant granddaughter, Barbara, in 1958, and a grandson, Stephan Klingsheim, in 1970.
He leaves his wife Opal, three sons, Gilbert of Victorvill, Calif., Darrell of Minneapolis, Minn., and Melvin of Minneapolis, Minn., and one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Elnora) Dresselhaus of San Diego. He is survived by eight grandchildren as well as four brothers, Oscar of Tustin, California, Arthur of Harmony, Minnesota, Berner of Lime Springs, Ia.,and Earl of Lime Springs, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Samuel (Emma) Egge, of Dorchester, Ia.
Funeral services were Monday at Spring Valley Assembly of God Church and conducted by Revs. Richard Dresselhaus and Oscar Klingsheim together with the local pastor, Rev. Roy Nanke. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lime Springs. Pallbearers were Luvern Smedsrud, Paul Klingsheim, Alfred Klingsheim, Gaylen Klingsheim, Ivan Geffert and Joseph Egge.
