William P. "Billy" Fenske, age 77 of Cresco died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Bill was born on January 26, 1939 to Lloyd and Pearl (Knutson) Fenske in Cresco, Iowa.Bill attended school in Cresco, Iowa. He was a part of the class of '57.He worked for Goodrich & Lease as well as Highway Surfaces.Bill married Barbara (Helm) and after 2 years in LaPorte City they made their home in Cresco. He went to the Police Academy in Des Moines, IA and then in 1967 joined the Cresco Police Dept.

Bill enjoyed driving truck for many different companies, including, Weinkauf & Clark, H & M, and Johnsrud.Bill joined the Howard County Sheriff's Department in 1981. After retiring in 1998, he enjoyed many part time jobs including working for Ray Reicks, Quentin Vsetecka, Plant Peddler, and Winn-Coop.

Bill is survived by 3 children: Douglas(DeLana) Fenske of Fayetteville, NC and Karen(George) Glavee of San Ramon, CA and Karla Fenske (Lonie) of Ridgeway, IA., 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and a brother, Jane, Judy, and Jimmy and a very special friend, Betty Wenthold.

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents Lloyd and Pearl, a sister June Murphy, and brothers Tom, Bobby, Larry, Eddie Arthur and 1 infant great-grandson Jacob Fenske.
