Gladys “Doreen” Snow, 85, of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Cresco Care Center. She was born in Bristol, England March 26, 1927 to Alfrieda and John Harnell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, Iowa.Source: Lime Springs Herald, April 17, 2012

Doreen Snow, 85, of Cresco, IA passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco, IA. Gladys “Doreen” Snow was born in Bristol, England March 26, 1927 to Alfrieda and John Harnell. She married William E. Maklenburg in March 1944. They lived in northeast Iowa and southern Minnesota, raising four children. She married James M. Snow in October 1956 and continued her family with his children, their children, and foster children. Doreen had many interests besides her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, knitting, bird watching, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, traveling, and playing cards with her many friends. She is survived by children: Edwin (Barbara) Maklenburg, Merlin (Glenda) Maklenburg, Linda (Maklenburg) Hyde, Hazel (Maklenburg) Swenson, Dale (Rebecca) Snow, Keith Snow, stepdaughter, Donna (Snow) Bruner, and foster daughter RoxAnn (Raymond) Heim. Included in her family were 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Kenneth Harnell, step-daughter Darlene (Snow) Stauffer, step-sons Jerry and Leroy Snow, son Gary Snow, grandson James Maklenburg, great-granddaughter Kayla Roethler.

Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, IA.
