Arnie Bakken, 67 of Lime Springs, Iowa passed away at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.

Arnold Parnell Bakken was born to Orvin and Darleen (Hovey) in Cresco, Iowa on September 7, 1948. He attended and graduated from Crestwood High School. While he was in school he enjoyed and participated in wrestling and F.F.A. Following high school, Arnie volunteered for the draft and was deployed to Vietnam from 1967-1968. Upon his return from the military, he farmed, and was employed at Donaldson’s, Featherlite, and at Johnson Farms Blending for nearly 30 years.

On October 2, 1966 he married Connie Robinson. To this union two sons were born, Brian and Brady. Arnie enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with neighbors, friends, and family. He prided himself in being the greatest grounds keeper in town. One of his greatest enjoyments was going cruising in his Mustang convertible. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and loved to give them a hard time. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved attending games at Lambeau Field. If you ever needed an opinion on Fords or the Green Bay Packers, Arnie would always have the answer and anxious to share it with anyone who asked.

Arnie is survived by his wife Connie, two sons, Brian (Michelle) and Brady (Kayla) all of Lime Springs, Iowa, six grandchildren, Joshua (Karie) of Cresco, Iowa, Amanda and Cody Bakken, Madison and Hayes Arnold Bakken, and Parker Moellers, all from Lime Springs, Iowa, and three great-grandchildren, Blair and Brylie Bakken, and Ryker Kilian.
