Margaret A (Miskimins) Broghammer

Margaret passed peacefully away on June 4, 2015 in Coffeyville, KS.

Visitation Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian burial following at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home located at 404 North Elm Street in Cresco at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery Cresco.

Margaret Broghammer was born on April 15, 1922 in Riceville, Iowa to John G and Margaret M (Myers) Miskimins. She was a 1939 graduate of Riceville High School and later earned her teaching degree from Northern Iowa Teachers College. Margaret taught at various rural schools and also tutored students. On December 24, 1943, Margaret and Leonard Broghammer were united in marriage in Carson City, Colorado. They made their home in Cresco where they were blessed with four children. In 1961, Margaret began a new career of office and bookwork for Broghammer Roofing Co. She continued that job until her retirement.

Margaret enjoyed many interests including reading, gardening, politics, but mostly spending time with her family to whom she was a dedicated Mother and wife. She loved all children but none so much as her children who she nurtured with love, kindness, and faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Broghammer and her son, Mark Broghammer of West Des Moines. Surviving are her three children, Jane (Mike) Davis, South Coffeyville, OK; Judy (Jim) Wengryn of Fort Dodge, IA and Mike Broghammer of Cedar Rapids, IA; 8 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Margaret had just welcomed her first great-great grandchild a week previously. She is so loved and will be sorely missed.
