Mary F. Johnson, 77, of Cresco, IA passed away Monday, May 4, 2015, at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco, IA. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Cresco, IA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm Street, Cresco, IA 52136 with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of service Thursday at the church.

Mary Frances Brannon was born on November 28, 1937, daughter of Glen and Erma (Bodensteiner) Brannon in Ossian, Iowa. On June 6, 1961, she was united in marriage to Cletus Johnson in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes, IA. Mary enjoyed being outside planting flowers and gardening. She also liked fishing with her family, putting together puzzles, and playing cards with friends.

She is survived by her son Vern (Trisha) Johnson of La Vista, NE, her grandchildren Cortney and Cole, and her sisters Barb Martinek of Cresco, Bette Offerman of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Doris Hageman of Rock Falls, IL.

Mary is preceded by her parents, husband Cletus, a sister Pat Martinek, and brother Loras Brannon.
