Earl Hoppe, 76, of Cresco, IA passed away at Regional Health Services on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Earl was born on December 11, 1938 in Winneshiek County to Kermit and Ellen (Halweg) Hoppe. He joined the Army in 1957. After leaving the Army, he worked for Riehle’s Church Decorating. He was united in marriage to Joan Good on December 17, 1960. To this union 3 children were born, Loran, Gerald and Gina. After he was married, he graduated from barber college. He worked in Charlie Pelton’s Barber Shop. After Earl left the barber shop, he bought a milk route and sold it several years later. He then began working for Cresco Masonry. Earl was then offered a job at Hormel’s where he worked until retirement in March 1999. Earl is survived by his wife, Joan of 54 years, two children: Loran (Diane) Hoppe of Rochester, MN and Gina (Jeff) Moen of Grimes, IA; seven grandchildren: James (Cari) Hoppe of Cresco, IA, Jason (Alicia) Hoppe of Frankville, IA, Kayla Holleman (Frank Jaramillo) of Menomonie, WI, Tanya and Brandon Hoppe of Rochester, MN, Jacob and Rachel Moen of Grimes, IA, his great grandchildren: Ethan, Alexis, Austin & Emmaly Hoppe of Cresco, IA, Harley, Raven, and Rayne-Drop Hoppe of Frankville, IA, Waylon Holleman and Nathan Jaramillo of Menomonie, WI; siblings: Lorrine (Roger) Wentworth of Cresco, IA, Gene (Linda) Hoppe of South St. Paul, MN, brother-in-law Wayne Roberts of Decorah, IA, LaVonne (Ken) Fishell of Cumming, GA, two sister-in-laws Norma (Jack) Smith of Cresco, IA and Ellen (Wayne) Halstead of Cresco, IA and several nieces and nephews. Earl was proceeded in death by his parents, infant son Gerald, and two sisters LaVene Roberts and Rita Hoppe.

Visitation:
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, Iowa.

Cemetery:
It was Earl's wishes to be cremated and be laid to rest at New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco, Iowa, privately by his family at a later date.
