DUBUQUE - A Celebration of Life and interment for James "Jim" Skoda of Dubuque, Iowa will be held at a later date.

James, 64, died on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 in Dubuque after a long struggle with many health problems.

James Skoda was born July 23, 1950 in Cresco, Iowa, the son of George and Eloise (Knox) Skoda. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Cresco in 1969. After high school Jim lived and worked in Minnesota and Iowa. He went back to school and received an accounting degree and worked for the USDA in Des Moines, until his retirement. He eventually moved to Dubuque where he has resided for the last few years. Jim was a lifelong diehard Green Bay Packers fan.

Jim is survived by his special friend: Kathy Tatar of Dubuque; siblings: Joe (Melissa O'Rourke) Skoda, Jerry (Linda) Skoda of Decorah, Janice Skoda of Cresco, and John (Dar) Skoda of Cresco; along with many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Kathy made Jim's life sweeter and was a great comfort to him in his last months.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
