FATAL ACCIDENT

Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Fred Miller was engaged in hauling from the rear of his store some lumber and rubbish which had accumulated from the change being made in the business when in some manner he fell from, or was thrown from the load, death resulting from breaking his neck. He was just making preparation to engage extensively with a cousin, in conducting a bakery and confectionery, in the rooms lately occupied by him as a store, and in the room beneath. This is a terrible affliction to his family, and more so, as but a few moments previous to his death he had left them in the full promise of prolonged life and in perfect health. In this sad dispensation they have the universal sympathy of the people of Cresco. Facts in regard to his birth and life will be gathered for a future issue of our paper.
