Death Of Henry Betts
Henry Martin Betts passed away Saturday evening at the home of his son Roy northeast of town following a paralytic stroke which he suffered that afternoon while delivering stock at the stockyards in Cresco.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon and burial was in Oaklawn cemetery.
He was 61 years old and is survived by two sons Roy of Cresco and Lyle of St. Charles, Ill., and other relatives.
His son Lyle and brother Edwin of Wayside, Neb., were here to attend the funeral. A sketch of deceased life will be published next week.

Henry Martin Betts
Henry Martin Betts the eldest of a family of five was born July 29, 1867, on the Betts farm on the county line road. Of his parents his aged mother, residing in Cresco, is still living. His father died in 1912. A sister Gertrude died in infancy, Nellie Betts Watros passed away during the flu epidemic in the fall of 1918, Elmer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Edwin of Wayside, Neb., who was present at the funeral are the remaining ones.
June 8, 1893, he was united in marriage to Minnie A. Libbey, to this union two sons were born, Roy the oldest now living on the farm northeast of Cresco, Lyle of St. Charles, Ill., who was present at the funeral.
Funeral services conducted by Reverend Normann were held at the farm home Tuesday, Dec. 4. Interment was in Oak Lawn.
Saturday Dec 1, 1928, while in seemingly his usual health he was stricken and passed away about 8:30 o'clock that evening.Card Of Thanks
