Anthony Kuhn, age 88, of Cresco, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco, Iowa. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm Street, Cresco, IA, with a scripture service to follow. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service at the church.

Anthony was born at home on September 26, 1925 to Albert J. and Barbara (Shindelar) Kuhn. He graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 1943. He served in WWII as a medic in Japan and was honorably discharged in September of 1947. On September 22, 1948, he married Colette Elsbernd. He was a dairy and hog farmer near Ridgeway, Iowa until retiring in Cresco, Iowa. Anthony was named Master Swine Producer in 1958 and Winneshiek County 1991 Pioneer Dairyman. He was a 4-H leader for over 25 years and actively involved in his church. He enjoyed beekeeping, woodworking, and raising Black Angus.

Anthony positively impacted family and friends with his kindness and unique sense of humor, always putting a smile on your face and touching your heart.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Colette, 3 sons and 6 daughters, Leo (Mary) Kuhn of Soldiers Grove, WI, Ruth (Bob) Schluter of Waverly, IA, Rosemary (Greg) Courtney of Columbia, MO, Mark (Ruth) Kuhn of Fort Atkinson, IA, Germaine Kuhn of Calmar, IA, Albert (Karen) Kuhn of Cresco, IA, Martha (Robert) Stussy of Soldiers Grove, WI, Kathy (Tom) Young of Manly, IA, and Lois (Ron) Olsen of Cottage Grove, MN; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Kuhn of Calmar, IA; 28 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; sister, Therese Schmitt; brother, Jerome (Carlene) Kuhn; sisters-in-law, Sr. Ruth Elsbernd OSF, Luella Elsbernd, Gladys Elsbernd, and Anna Mae Kuhn; and brother-in-law, Jim Bentz.

He is preceded in death by a son, Roger Kuhn in 2004, his parents, 2 brothers- Br. Sebastin Kuhn and Ray Kuhn, and 2 sisters- Rita Schmitt and Margaret Mary Bentz. 1 sister-in-law & 5 brother-in-laws.
