Adelyne Marie Wright, 87, of Cresco, died Sunday Jan. 30, 2000.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Cresco. Burial was at the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood at 3:30. The Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco handled arrangements.

Adelyne (Miller) Wright was born June 11, 1912, in Fargo, N. D.; she was placed in an orphanage when she was 16 days old and adopted by Otto and Ella Miller of Milnor, N. D.

Adelyne went to Milnor School and graduated in 1929. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and graduated from there with a bachelor's degree in 1933. She taught in country schools around Milnor and Rutland, N. D. for 2 years. Then she was at a high school in Rutland.

Adelyne married Sophus W. Lee July 24, 1936. To this marriage 3 sons were born: Bruce Lee, Gary Lee and John Lee. The family lived in Oaks, N. D., Lemmon, Mobridge and Brookings, S.D., Northwood and on a farm near Buffalo, Minn.

From 1964 to 1973 Adelyne taught English in Lakes Mills.

Her husband Sophus W. Lee died in March of 1967.

She married Hugh Wright on Dec. 18, 1972 and they moved to Stow, Ohio, where she lived for 22 years. Adelyne moved to Cresco in November of 1994, where she lived near her sons until her death.

Wherever she lived, Adelyne participated in church activities, including teaching Sunday School, the Alter Guild, circle, Ladies Aid and singing in the choir. She also was a part of women's clubs wherever she lived, including Clio and PEO in Cresco.

Her interests including reading, doing crossword puzzles, sewing, playing bridge and entertaining people in her home.

Adelyne is remembered as always being thankful for the love and life she shared with her parents. She continued to express that love her whole life to family and friends.

Survivors include sons Bruce Lee of Decorah, and Gary "Gerry" Lee of Cresco; daughter-in-law Marie Lee of Glidden; stepsons David (Barbara) Wright of Stow, Ohio and Jim (Connie) Wright of Boulder, Colo.; 6 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Adelyne was preceded in death by her first husband, Sophus W. Lee; her parents; her second husband, Hugh Wright and her youngest son, John Lee.
