Charles Clink, 74, of Pequot Lakes, Minn., died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with Rev. David Stevens. Burial was in the Fremont Lutheran Cemetery in rural Cresco.
Charles "Chuck" Clink was born July 18, 1926 in Kendallville to William and Nora (Johnson) Clink. He graduated from Harmony High School, and married LaVonne Lein on Sept. 2, 1951 at Fremont Lutheran Church.
Charles farmed in the rural Cresco area until 1973. He then moved to Pequot Lakes, Minn., where he owned and operated Twin Points Resort on Lake Ossawinnamakee. In 1978 he moved to Mayo Lake, and was a school bus driver for the Pequot Lakes School District for close to 18 years. He also did maintenance work for Breezy Point Lodge Apartments. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and a past trustee.
In 1990 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and his health declined. He entered Whispering Pines on Feb. 5, 1995, where he resided until his death.
Survivors include his wife, LaVonne Clink, a daughter, Ruth (David) Fritcher of Lime Springs; 6 sons: David (Julie) of DePere, Wisc.; Donald Clink of Alpine, Calif.; Dwain (Ruth) Clink of Maple Plain, Minn.; Dean (Monica) Clink of Pequot Lakes; Daryl (Stacy) Clink of Breezy Point, Minn. and Danny (Mary) Clink of Brooklyn Park, Minn., as well as 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a son, Dale, 2 grandsons, Scott and Aaron, and his parents.
