DIED.

AVERILL.--In Morrisonville, New York, March 26, 1881, Henry Ketchum Averill, Sen., in his 83d, year.

We find the foregoing notice of the death of an esteemed friend and former citizen of our county in the Plattsburg Republican. His death occurred at the residence of his daughter, so that paper informs us, Mrs. M. E. A. Burch. Besides nearly column notice which we shall make room for at an early day, the paper quoted from says:

The flag on the Custom House was displayed at half-mast last Monday in token of respect to the memory of Henry Ketchum Averill, who officiated as postmaster in Plattsburgh from about 1830 to 1841, and whose funeral was held that day in Morrisonville, where he spent the last year or two of his life.
