Funeral services for Charles Edward Booth of Elk River, Minn., were held at the Bradley funeral home Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Geo. W. Turner officiated and burial was in Oaklawn cemetery.
Mr. Booth died suddenly at Elk River February 5th. He had been ill of a heart ailment for some time. Funeral services were held at Elk River where the family had lived for several years and the body arrived here Thursday noon. Accompanying it were Mrs. Booth, three of the four sons; Clarence Booth and wife of Minneapolis; Pfc. Charles Myron Booth; Cpl. Harold Douglas Booth and Mrs. Booth's brother-in-law C.W. Thurman of Minneapolis. Her sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hedlund of Minneapolis were also here. One son, Roger J. Booth of the U.S. Merchant Marine, could not be here.
Pallbearers were L.E. Emmons, E.A. Miller, Roy Salisbury, Frank Rink, W.C. Sovereign and George Mackenburg, Rev. Turner read the following life sketch of deceased:
"Charles Edward Booth was born in Howard county, Iowa, May 6, 1877. He was the youngest son of John and Alice Booth. On Nov. 9, 1898, he was married to Emma Hill, also of Howard county. He is survived by Mrs. Booth and their four sons: Clarence Edward of Minneapolis; Pfc. Charles Myron of Como, Miss.; Roger J. Of Brooklyn, N.Y., of the U.S. Merchant Marine and Cpl. Harold Douglas of Columbia, S.C. There is one grandchild, Darlene Booth of Anoka,Minn.The Howard County Times February 16, 1944 Page 2 C3
