Obituary.

Ling- Died in Cresco, May 7, 1897.

Anna M., wife of R.W. Ling, aged 74 years, 5 months and 16 days.

Deceased was born in Puntan, Sommersetshire, England, Dec 21, 1822. In 1836, she united with the Wesleyan Methodist church in England, remaining with it until her removal to the United States.

The 26 of January 1849, she was united in marriage with R.W. Ling, who with three sons born to them remain to mourn the death of wife and mother. In 1869, Mr. and Mrs. Ling with their family removed to the United States, locating in this immediate vicinity. The three surviving children were present at the burial of their mother, the younger one having journeyed from Wyoming, but not arriving until after the demise of mother.

Mrs. Ling had for a long time been in frail health, which was made more severe from an injury received in a fall upon an icy walk, in the winter, from which she never recovered. During her long illness she was faithfully attended and cared for by husband and sons here, and passed away surrounded by sorrowing members of her family. It is meet to mourn the death of so good a wife and mother as she, and with those who mourn here, there are none but those who sympathise.
