Mrs. Fred Steinberg, Former Cresco Woman, Dies in California

A former Cresco resident, Mrs. Fred Steinberg, 72, of Long Beach California, died in her home there last Sunday. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Patterson and Snively chapel in Long Beach. Burial will be made in the Oak Lawn cemetery in Cresco.

Mrs. Steinberg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Caward of Cresco, was born December 24, 1874. She lived in Cresco when she was a young girl and left to attend school away from here. She went to Los Angeles, California, in 1930 and to Long Beach in 1945.

Mrs. Steinberg was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. She is survived by her husband, Fred Steinberg, two sisters, Mrs. Edith Garrett of Los Angeles and Mrs. N.G. Caward of Brooklyn, California, and a half-sister, Mrs. Fred Wodrich of Davenport. A cousin, L.C. DeNoyelles, lives in Cresco.
