Services held for Evelyn Williams

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cresco and memorial services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday Sept 5 at St. Benedict's Senior Community Center Chapel in St. Cloud for Evelyn J. Williams.

Evelyn, 100, died Sunday, August 11, 2003 at St. Benedict's Center.

Evelyn was born January 4, 1903 in Leroy, MN, the daughter of Christian and Dianna (Anderson) Forthun. She was a graduate of Grinnell College in Grinnell in 1924.

On June 5, 1936 she married Wayne F. Williams, Sr. in Cresco. They lived in Naperville, Ill. until 1970 and then lived in Cresco and Buncombe, Ill until moving to the St. Cloud area in 1990. She was a high school math teacher in both Iowa and Illinois.

She was a member of Congregational Church in Cresco.

She is survived by one son, Wayne, of St. Cloud, one daughter, Jean Parker, of Cincinnati, OH, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne,Sr., on January 5, 1995, her parents, one brother, Stanley, and one sister, Ione Forthun.
