Albert was born August 7, 1921 in Toledo, Iowa. He attended school in Oskaloosa, Iowa and graduated from Eddyville High School in 1940. From 1942 to 1945 he served in the Army Air Force as a Radio Instructor stationed in South Dakota and South Carolina. Albert married Marcetta Ashley on April 4, 1945 in Cedar Rapids. Albert worked for the State Police as a radio operator and chief dispatcher. In 1951 he moved his family to Cedar Rapids where he worked as a Quality Control Engineer for Rockwell – Collins for 31 years, retiring in 1982. He and Marcetta moved to Cresco in 1999. For many years Albert was an Elder and Treasurer for the Cedar Christian Church in Cedar Rapids and later a member and Treasurer of the United Methodist Church in Cresco. Albert had numerous talents and interests many of which he taught himself by reading. Early on he was interested in Ham Radios and photography. He designed a dark room for developing his own pictures. He started a printing business in his home, loved to garden, mow the lawn and target shoot. He became very interested in genealogy and computers and kept current with the latest technology gladly offering technical advice. He especially loved sitting in the swing on his deck. Albert is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marcetta of Cresco; two daughters: Marsha (Ken) Kerr of Eaton, Ohio, and Marilynn (Dennis) Fisher of Decorah, Iowa; four grandchildren: Jason Kerr of Elkhart, Indiana, Tanya (Mark) Zohs of Rotorua, New Zealand, Aaron (Renee) Kerr of Eaton, Ohio and Nathan (Jessica) Fisher of St. Louis, Missouri; four great-grandsons: Ethan, Adam and Daniel Zohs and Nathan Fisher Jr.; many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Pat Perry of Ankeny, Iowa. Albert is preceded in death by his mother, Abby Perry; a sister, Peggy Akers and a brother, Herbert Perry.

Visitation:
9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, 310 N. Elm Street, Cresco, Iowa

Service:
10:00 am on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, 310 N. Elm Street, Cresco, Iowa.

Cemetery:
2:30 pm at Garrett Cemetery, rural Delta, Iowa.
