Wilma Buswell services held
Funeral services for Wilma Buswell were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Cresco with the Rev. Gary K. Lee officiating. Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Wilma, 82, died November 9, 1996, at the Howard County Hospital.
Wilma Blanche Olsen Buswell was born in Cresco on February 24, 1914, the only child of Regina and Lars Larson. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1932.
In 1939, she married Charles Buswell.
Wilma attended beautician school in Waterloo and owned and operated a beauty salon in Cresco for several years.
From 1947 to 1951 the couple lived in Cedar Falls returning to Cresco after Charles suffered a heart attack.
Wilma was employed by the City of Cresco as a meter maid and as a clerk at City Hall until the late 1970s when she retired. Wilma was a member of First Lutheran Church in Cresco and was in charge of relief activities in several northeastern Iowa Counties for the Red Cross.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Joanna Corcoran of Iowa City and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son,Jon.
