Ruth Burr services held February 17

Funeral services for Ruth S. Burr, of Bella Vista, AR, formerly of Cresco, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, at the United Methodist Church in Cresco with Rev. Allen Wiese officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth, 73, died Tuesday, February 14, at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital following open heart surgery.

Ruth Olsen was born October 27,1921, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Severin and Ragna Olsen. She attended high school and business school in Chicago. Ruth served in the Navy during World War II where she met Kenneth K. Burr. They were married March 10,1946, and made their home in Cresco.

Ruth was a homemaker, she worked at The Times Plain Dealer and Cresco Masonry.

Surviving her are her husband, Kenny, of Bella Vista, AR; four children, Barbara Beach of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Taylor of Des Moines, Tom Burr of Davenport, and Mary DeWalle of Redlands, CA; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Lorraine Thompson of Libertyville, IL.
