Services to be held for James Burgess

Services for James Burgess,77,formerly of Canton,MN, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 6, at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco with interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, January 5.

James died Saturday, January 1, 1994, at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, MN.

James Burgess was born October 9,1916, in Winneshiek County, the son of George and Emma (Greenslade) Burgess.

On November 23,1939, he married Gladys Baker at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

James was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a meat cutter and owned the locker in Canton, MN, for a time.

Surviving him are his sisters, Ellen Daly and Catherine Williams, both of Cresco, and one brother, Clifford Burgess of Cresco.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Gladys, June 12,1988.
