Ruth was born March 11, 1942 in Cresco IA, the daughter of Vernon and Rose (Timmerman) Reuter She graduated from Cresco High School in 1960. On October 15, 1960 she married Leonard Leferink at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cresco. Ruth worked as a waitress at Pettits Café in Riceville for many years. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, bird-watching, cats, and reading. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville and the American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth’s children would like to express their appreciation to Ruth’s nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who helped with her care. Ruth is survived by two children: Christopher (Carolyn) Leferink of Ankeny, Iowa and Cindy (Tim Boettcher) Leferink of Tallahasse, Florida; three siblings: Ruby Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ida (Donald) Zakostelecky of Lime Springs, Iowa, and Robert (Phyllis) Reuter of Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers-in-law: Frank Zakostelcky of Cresco, Iowa and Gary Fritz of Waterloo, Iowa. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard in 2009; two sisters, Helen Zakostelecky, and Karen Fritz; and a brother-in-law, Gordon Wilson.
