Terry “Murdock” Murray was born in Cresco, Iowa to Paul and Lucille (Lepa) Murray on April 14, 1951. He graduated from Crestwood High School in 1969. Terry was a star wrestler in his high school years and achieved a 3rd place rank at the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament in Waterloo in 1968. He married Debra Roethler on Oct 20, 1973 in Elma, IA. From this union one daughter was born. Jennifer Murray Schultschik. They later divorced. He was an avid outdoorsman. Terry lived to hunt and fish and nothing tasted better to him than a venison steak. Terry spent many summer days playing Mens Slow pitch Softball.Terry went to work for Collins in Cedar Rapids after high school for a few years and then returned home and worked for Carlson Construction of Decorah. He was an excellent welder and for the past 20+ years worked for Featherlite Trailers and most recently Alum-line. Those Terry leaves behind to mourn his passing are his daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Schultschik; his grandsons: Keegan and Clayton all of Cedar Rapids; his brother Gary (Marcia) Murray of Cresco; niece Tiffany (Jason) Olejniczak and their children, Emma, Kaleb and Lydia all of Perry, Iowa; nephew Cory (Monica) Murray and their children, Cody and Abby all of Rockford, Iowa; niece Jessy (Josh) Whitinger and their children, Evelyn and Lucas all of Waverly, Iowa; his former wife Debra and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Terry was preceded in death by father Paul Murray, mother Lucille Dotzler and his father from the time he was 8 years of age, Henry Dotzler Jr.; a baby brother Jerry; and grandparents: Daniel and Eva Murray and James and Pearl Lepa.
