Services for Leo Billmyer,80, were held on Sunday, August 25 in the Assumption Catholic Church in Cresco. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery with Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He died August 22,1991, at the Howard County Hospital following a short illness.
Leo Billmyer was born July 13, 1911, at Epiphany, South Dakota, to Louis and Alma (Nolta) Billmyer. The family moved to a farm in Howard County where he grew up and attended the local schools.
On June 26, 1943, Leo married Rose Bouska at the Assumption Church. They were the parents of two children.
Leo was a Cresco businessman for many years, being in an auto repair and gas station business and then in partnership with his brother, Louis, in the Billmyer Furniture store for 22 years. He retired in 1976.
Survivors are his wife, Rose of Cresco; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Kay) Eckerman of Cresco and a son, David, stationed with the U.S. Air Force at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Also surviving are three grandchildren; a brother, Louis Billmyer of Cresco and a sister, Thelma (Sister Joseph Clare) of LaCrosse, WI.
His parents preceded him in death.
