JEFFERSON, WI - Funeral services for Edna M. Fountain of Jefferson, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with Rev. Janette Thorp officiating. Interment will be held in the Howard County Cemetery in Elma, Iowa.

Visitation will be held at the church today, Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home LLC in Jefferson, Wis. is handling the arrangements.

Edna, 98, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.

Edna M. Fountain was born Jan. 23, 1916, in Howard County, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Laue) Deterding.

On Aug. 19, 1936, she married George Fountain, he preceded her in death in 1985.

Edna was a homemaker most of her life, and she and her husband farmed in the Howard County area for many years.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson; Edna enjoyed making quilts with the Women's Fellowship Dorcus Circle.

She is survived by a daughter: Lois (Marvin) Kirchner of Jefferson; grandchildren: Ruth (Don) Wiesmann of Cypress, Texas, Nathan Kirchner of Wauwatosa, and Mary (Dan) Springer of Jefferson; great-grandchildren: Lindsay, Scott Wiesmann, Nicholas, Erin Kirchner, Dr. Mitchell (fiance Tzvia Cuperman) Springer, Nicole Springer; and a sister-in-law: Mary Deterding of Elma, Iowa,

She was preceded in death by her sister: Marie Stevenson; and brother: Henry Deterding.

Memorials may be sent to Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center, 1225 Remmel Drive, Johnson Creek, WI 53038 or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 324 South Sanborn Ave., Jefferson, WI 53549.
