Edwin J. Bauer Dies of Cancer Monday Morning

Funeral services for Edwin J. Bauer, 75, were held in the Bradley Funeral home today (Wednesday). Burial was in the Oak Lawn cemetery with the Rev. E.C. Franke conducting the services.

Mr. Bauer, who had been in ill health since he was 30 years of age, died in the Cresco hospital of cancer Monday.

Edwin J. Bauer son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bauer, was born November 3, 1883, in Alta Vista. He attended the school in Alta Vista.

He farmed with his brother, the late Irwin Bauer, in the Davis Corners community. Later he farmed alone for a short time, but became ill and had since been confined to institutions.

Mr. Bauer spent several years in the Swanson Rest home in Cresco and underwent surgery in a Rochester hospital a year ago. He has since been a patient in the Cresco hospital.

Mr. Bauer is survived by a sister, Mrs. Louie Maronde, of Cresco, and two nieces and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Irwin and a sister, Abbie.
