Brayton Brown,76, funeral held Monday
Services for Brayton (Buster) Brown were held Monday, Dec. 29, at the United Methodist church with the Rev. Thomas Woodin officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He died Dec. 26 at the age of 76.
Brayton Burdette Brown, son of Fred and Minnie Brown, was born April 30, 1904 in Winneshiek county. His early years were spent in Winneshiek county around the Cresco area where he attended school. As a young man, "Buster" moved to the farm which was his home for 52 years.
On December 21 he was united in marriage to Esther Trouten at Boone. They became the parents of two sons, Lyle and Jerry.
For many years "Buster" was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Cresco United Methodist church. He spent many years pursuing his hobby of collecting antiques.
Survivors are his wife, Esther; two sons, Lyle of Cresco and Jerry of Spokane, Wash.; three grandchildren; a twin sister, Mrs. Bina Vaubel of Houston, Texas, and a brother, Leon of Cresco. Also three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Luella and three infant sisters.
