Jon Buswell, 23, ends fight with cancer

Funeral services for Jon Buswell, 23, were held Thursday, Oct. 12 at First Lutheran church with the Rev. Gary Lee officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jon died Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Evans Memorial Home after a long illness.

Jon Charles Buswell was born November 21, 1954 in Cresco to Charles M. and Wilma Buswell. He attended school in Cresco, graduating from Crestwood high school in 1973, where he was active in football, wrestling and band. He was also active in Boy Scouts, having obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Jon was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran church.

After graduation Jon was employed at ADS in Cresco and the Red Owl Store until he became ill.

Survivors include his mother, Wilma, a sister, Mrs. Tom (Joanna) Corcoran of Iowa City and a niece, Megan; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, in 1958.
