Mrs. Flossie Betts, 78, Former Resident, Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Flossie Betts, 78, of Chadron, Neb., formerly of Cresco, were held at the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home in Cresco, Monday afternoon. Mrs. Betts died last Wednesday in a Chadron rest home where she had made her home following hospitalization for a stroke suffered last May.
Conducting the funeral services was the Rev. George Baker, pastor of the Cresco First Methodiat church. Burial was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
Mrs. Betts, the former Flossie May Banning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phineas Michael Banning, was born at Ossian, Dec. 17, 1888. In 1907 she was united in marriage with Edwin Betts. Mr. and Mrs. Betts became the parents of one daughter and two sons. Until 1911, the couple farmed northeast of Cresco. They then moved to a farm northwest of Cresco. They then moved to a farm nothwest of Chadron, Neb.
Surviving Mrs. Betts are her son, Sterling Betts of Chadron; one sister, Georgia Libbey of Dixon, Calif., and four nephews.
Preceding Mrs. Betts in death were her husband; one daughter; one son, who died in World War II, and three brothers.
