Mrs. Fred Bergman, 82, Funeral Held Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Bergman were held Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. E.C. Franke officiating. Burial was in the Oak Lawn cemetery with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bergman died July 8 at the Cresco hospital at the age of 82.

Mrs. Marie Bergman, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Rehrs, was born in Seltau, Germany, on Feb. 6, 1887. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany. In 1908 she married Herman Timme in Germany. They had two daughters. Mr. Timme died during World War I.

On Dec. 31, 1922, she was married to Fred Bergman, also in Germany. They emigrated to America in 1923 and lived a few years around Castalia, Postville and Waukon. In 1929 they moved to the Cresco vicinity and farmed west and then north of Cresco. In 1955 they retired to Cresco.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and the Rachel circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and one sister, Mrs. Emmie Berg.

Mrs. Bergman is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Emmie Schave and Mrs. Adele Michel, both of Cresco; one sister, Mrs. Adele Marwede of Germany; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
