Henry O. Braham Dies Friday in His Cresco Home
Funeral services were held yesterday morning in the Cresco First Lutheran church for Henry O. Braham, 70, of Cresco, who died in his sleep Friday night.
Mr. Braham had been associated with his son, Paul Braham, in the Braham Furniture store in Cresco since 1955.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Carsten Smeby, pastor, and burial was in the Oak Lawn cemetery. The Peckosh Funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
Henry Olavus Braham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Braham, was born at Jerico, October 3, 1889. He was baptized and confirmed in the Jerico Lutheran church. As a young man he attended the Oelwein business college.
Mr. Braham was married to Christina Basteson June 24, 1914. Mr. and Mrs. Braham lived for a short time in Rudd, where Mr. Braham was employed as a cashier in the Rudd Savings bank. They later moved to Mason City, where Mr. Braham worked for Montgomery Ward and company.
The couple moved to Cresco in 1955 when Mr. Braham became associated in the Braham Furniture store.
Surviving Mr. Braham are a son, Paul of Cresco, and three granddaughters, Kristine, Ruth and Janice.
There are five sisters, including Mrs. Anna Severson of Brooten, Minnesota, Mrs. John (Christine) Anderson of Jerico, Mrs. Ed (Hannah) Johnson of Jerico, and Mrs. Frank (Karina) Schmiedemann and Mrs. Mabel Morrison, both of Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Braham was preceded in death by his wife, Christina, December 6, 1956.
