DIED.

TAYLOR.—In Union City, Erie county, Penn. Wednesday, April 2nd 1879, Hiram J. Taylor, of Le Roy, Coffee county, Kansas, aged 57 years.

About twenty years ago the deceased became a resident of St. Paul, Minn., immediately engaged in the manufacture and sale of lumber. He was a man of large practical experience, close observation, thorough business training and capacity, supported by unquestioned honor and integrity. St. Paul and Ramsey county twice honored him with the important and responsible trust of County Auditor, beside several minor offices in the city that he held, discharging their duties with rate fidelity. About two years since he exchanged his property in Minn., for farm property near Le Roy, Kansas, removing there about that time. In July last, he was taken sick and had never fully recovered. On the 19th of March his wife died at their home in Kansas, and he had taken her remains to Waterford, Pa., for interment; visiting a few days with brothers and friends at Warren, he went to Union City to visit Mr. James Stranahan, a brother-in-law, where he was taken suddenly worse, passing over the turbid river of death to its silent shore. And thus go the friends who start together the journey of life; four of this family having gone hence in the past two years, two sleeping their last sleep in the cemetery at Cresco. The deceased leave a family of several children to mourn an orphanage indeed! In their terrible affliction our warmest sympathies go out to them.
