GILLETT.-- In Cresco, Iowa on Sunday morning, March 23, 1879, Anson Gillett, aged 67 years 9 months and 29 days.

The deceased was born in Bainbridge, Chenango county, New York, coming to this county some twelve years since, and residing with his son-in-law, Gaius H. Church. His health had been failing for some time, and on the morning of his death, the family got him up to his breakfast, eating with his usual relish, when complaining of faintness, one feature of his illness, he was put on the bed and shortly after passed over to the silent shore, without a struggle or a pang, and so speedily that the family were hardly apprised that the spirit was taking its flight. The deceased leaves a wife and four children, two sons and two daughters, one of the latter being the wife of G. H. Church the other of Dr. H. C. Price.
