Dr. Carl Bastian, 87, services held Tuesday
Funeral services for Dr. Carl L. Bastian, 87, were held Tuesday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Woodin officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery with military honors conducted.
He died May 7, in the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Carl L. Bastian was born July 31, 1894 in Harmony, Minn. to Louis and Carrie Bastian. He graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport.
On Nov. 27, 1925, Carl married Mabel Grube in Nashua. He opened a chiropractic office in Madison, S.D. in 1926 and continued there until his retirement in 1978.
Carl was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, Elks club, Isaac Walton League and a past president of the South Dakota Chiropractic Assoc. and Madison Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel; son, Kenneth of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two grandchildren and a brother, Louis of Independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
